Here are groups of people considered at high risk of the Hepatitis B infection.
1. Adults with diabetes age 19 through 59 years. Vaccination can be considered in those with diabetes who are age 60 and older.
2. Sexually active adults who are not in a long-term, mutually monogamous relationship.
3. People whose sex partners are infected with hepatitis B.
4. Persons seeking evaluation or treatment for a sexually transmitted disease.
5. Men who have sex with men.
6. Current or recent injection-drug users.
7. People who have close household contact with someone infected with hepatitis B.
8. Healthcare and public safety workers at risk for exposure to blood or blood-contaminated body fluids on the job. This includes staff (and residents) of developmentally disabled people.
9. People with chronic liver disease, end-stage kidney disease, or HIV infection.
10. Travelers to regions with moderate or high rates of hepatitis B infection.
It is however recommended for everyone to be protected from the deadly untreatable infection.
